Fear is a habit I know too well
Filled with thoughts I cannot quell
Rising above my spirit spells
Crushing their light
Broken shells
Remain
Fear is a habit I know too well
How deep the roots? I fail to tell
So deeply ingrained
Unsparing to expel
My heart rebels
Despairs
Fear is a habit I know too well
And the lots of foes it begets
Trepidation
Consternation
Given birth to regrets
Expectations
Elevation
Left to forget
Fear is a habit I know too well
From the abysms of unawareness
It leaps
On the wings of thoughts
It clings
To the ember of hope
It drips
On Intuitive bursts
Fear is a lie I know too well
It quivers along
Every deed
Tinkling its song
Yet the Soul’s
Impervious to the noise
It’s a habit you know.
Dragging its feet
Fear and Soul
Walk home.
