For smoldering passion is believed to be smart

They bawled…
At the forthright voice refusing to be silenced

For bullies confuse power with violence
Impertinence!
The excuse…
For smashing divergent ways of being
Impertinence
For civility is now the same as agreeing
Impertinent
I am, then…
Refusing to be invisible
Impertinent
I stand tall for my principles
For a life that’s pure and sensible

Is power that makes us invincible
